Anika Noni, an American performer and singer. Her most well-known character is Tiana, Disney's first African American princess. In 2011, she was honored as an official Disney Legend. Rose was an Oscar-winning actor who played Lorrell on the screen in Dreamgirls. Anika Rose was born on September 6 in 1971. She is an American actor and singer. The most famous of her roles was her role as Tiana Ariel, the princess of Disney, who was one of the very first African American Princess to appear in The Princess and the Frog (2009). She was named a Disney legend in the year 2011. She is best known for the role of Lorrell Robinson as the film that won an Academy Award Dreamgirls (2006) as well as her portrayal of LaVerne, the Jukebox Ganner from the Starz TV series Power. Also, she is known for her performance in the theatre, particularly in her leading roles as Emmie Thibodeaux and as Emmie in The Broadway performance of Caroline or Change (2004) where she received the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Musical. Also, she starred as Beneatha Younger, who played the Broadway production of A Raisin in the Sun (2014) for which she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a play.
