Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and often stylized with the letters in uppercase like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well reviewed by various music websites. Half the World Away - by Oasis is a cover for John Lewis' Christmas ad as well as Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole have already been two notable covers that the singer has created. Katy Perry, who endorsed the track Runaway with her voice, gave the song a boost of recognition. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding the piano in the attic of her home, and becoming fascinated with the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes advised her to pursue music for development of her own, not to earn money or to pursue to pursue an interest. This led to her began to write her own music. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. Her mother had told her the songs she wrote were not meant to make her famous but instead to inspire people to see their own value and impact to this world, she started performing them publicly. Piano was her first instrument when she was six. She began writing music when she turned nine. She didn't tell her family about it until she turned fourteen. Aurora's success was never her dream. The only thing she loves is writing songs. She says that music is her favorite way to feel anything.
